According to the Law on amendments and supplements to the Law on minimum salary in the Republic of North Macedonia published in the Official Gazette of the Republic of North Macedonia no. 41/2022, it has been established that the amount of the minimum salary paid in gross amount for the month of March every year complies with:
- 50% of the increase in the average paid net salary in the Republic of North Macedonia, for the previous year, according to the data of the State Statistics Office, and
- 50% of the increase in the cost-of-living index, for the previous year, according to the data of the State Statistics Office.
The amount of the minimum salary cannot be lower than 57% of the amount of the average paid net salary in the Republic of North Macedonia for the previous year, according to the data of the State Statistics Office.
The average amount of the paid monthly net salary for an employee who works less than full time is calculated in proportion to the number of hours worked in the month.
In the average amount of the paid monthly net salary for an employee, the salary supplement for overtime work is not calculated.
The Minister of Economy and Labor, after a previous opinion from the Economic and Social Council, publishes the amount of the minimum salary in gross amount in the “Official Gazette of the Republic of North Macedonia”, in the month of March every year, which will start to be paid with the payment of the salary for the month of March in the current year.
According to the provisions of the Law on Minimum salary in the Republic of North Macedonia, on March 28, 2025 in the “Official Gazette of the Republic of North Macedonia” no. 68/25, The Ministry of Labor and Social Policy announced the amount of the minimum salary for 2025, which, unlike 2024, has increased.
According to the announcement, the minimum gross salary, starting from the month of March 2025, will be in amount: 36.037,00 MKD, that is, the minimum net salary, starting from the month of March 2025, will be in amount: 24.379.00 MKD.
