Law on copyright and related rights

The Government has determined the text of the Draft-Law on Amending the Law on Copyright and Related Rights.

The purpose of the proposed law is to prescribe a normative basis for establishing an efficient model for the functioning of the system of collective management of copyright and related rights in accordance with Directive 2014/26 / EC of the European Union on collective management of copyright and related rights and multi- Territorial licensing of music works for use online, in the area of ​​collective management.

The amendments, among other things, are still being harmonized with the EU Directive 2011/77 and with the Directive 2006/116 / EU on the duration of the protection of copyright and related rights, in relation to the protection of co-authors of musical works with text, as well as the duration of the protection of the performers and phonogram producers of recorded music performances, i.e. phonograms from 50 to 70 years.
